Information
Briefing:8:30am - Saturday 1st Sep 2018
Finish:11:30am - Saturday 1st Sep 2018
The day will begin with the theory portion of Course laying, presented by David Bagnall. This session underpins all course boat activities. This is an on-water session for practicing techniques used on course boats to lay marks. In addition, it
is important for Course Boat Crews to understand how they assist the
Course Layer, how to drop and retrieve a buoy with weight, rode, etc. so we request that all people that want to be crews on a course boat attend the session also. After the theory session if you can stay on and go do some practical training on the water during the days races it will really help embed what you learned in the morning!
In
addition to the RQYS live Course Laying Training we will be requesting
that all RQYS Course Layers and their crew, if interested, take part in
the new Australian Sailing On-line Course Laying Training which comes
with its own accreditation via AS. You can register here https://yachting.canopihr.com.au/auth/register?returnUrl=%2F The course takes approximately 4 hours to complete.
