Course Description
The Australian Sailing Race Officer
Seminar is a half day seminar for Club level or two day seminar for
State/National level, aimed at educating people who wish to become
involved with the officiating aspect within the sport of Sailing. Race
Officers play an important role within sailing, conducting racing at
clubs, and enabling organised participation and competition .
Pre-Requisites
There are no pre-requisites for
participation in this seminar. However, attendance at the AS Race
Officer Seminar is just one aspect of becoming a Race Officer. For more
information on how to achieve a Club, State or National Race Officer
accreditation, please contact Greg Dixon in Sailing Services.
Course Outcomes
Participants of the AS Race Officer
Seminar will receive a Certificate of Completion. To become a recognised
Race Officer, participants will need to complete an application form
and submit the necessary paperwork to accompany their application to
Sailing Services.
Who should do this Course?
People who have a keen interest in Sailing
and want to participate in another facet of the sport. Those who may be
interested in becoming a Race Officer include parents who may have
limited experience with sailing and want to contribute to the sport,
volunteers at yacht clubs and sailors who no longer actively participate
in the sport.
